Gum Grafting

If you don't have healthy and strong enough gum tissue protecting your teeth, our gentle dentists can repair it with a gingival gum graft.

There are 2 main types of gum tissue around your teeth. One is gasket like and tight and the other is loose so your cheeks and lips can move. Every tooth needs a minimum amount of the gasket type gum tissue to protect it from the trauma of every day eating and the bacteria that live in your mouth that given access to the bone can destroy the bone that supports your teeth.

Gums should be high and tight around the teeth.

There are many reasons; such as genetics, moving teeth with braces, or periodontal infections that can result in your having inadequate gum tissue or gum recession. No matter the reason, the absence of gasket like tissue can lead to the premature loss of your tooth. A gingival graft can protect, repair, and restore the appearance of your smile.
